Light weight Polyester taffeta fabrics are woven by twisting yarns. Shape and texture of this array of fabrics are retained by using starch. Earlier, these fabrics were silk based. At present, taffeta is fabricated from polyester and rayon as well. Polyester taffeta fabrics are chosen to design wedding outfits, evening wear, party dresses etc. Besides using to make costly apparel, these fabrics are also used to design parachutes, handbags and umbrella. Polyester based taffeta is also used as stuffing material for sleeping bags. Tear proof design, long lasting quality and ease of maneuverability are the key aspects of these fabrics.
